Events

Every year, Central New Hampshire VNA & Hospice hosts fundraisers, continuing education courses and community events to support our mission serving the community. Featured below are some of our signature events. For a full calendar of events, including clinics and other community events please visit our calendar.

2020 Home and Garden Tour Canceled

For the past thirty-two years the Hospice Home and Garden Tour has been held in the greater Wolfeboro area to benefit Central New Hampshire VNA & Hospice. Each year hundreds of people come to the Lakes Region the second Wednesday in July to tour beautiful homes and gardens in order to support Central New Hampshire VNA & Hospice. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 virus and out of an abundance of caution, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel this year’s tour. We are now focusing our attention on the work to be done for next summer.

Our hope is that even though the tour is cancelled you will continue to support our very important hospice program. Hospice provides quality of life in the days remaining due a life-limiting illness. Bringing services to your home offering you comfort, dignity and respect.

Masks for Hospice

Every year in June, the seventh grade class at Belmont Elementary hosts an auction, with all proceeds benefitting Central VNA. As part of their art rotation, the students employ their integrated curriculum for inspiration, such as East Indian wildlife and culture or ancient civilizations. The students then design and hand-craft the masks. The auction is open to the public.

Kick for Cancer

In 1990 Grandmaster Dr. Georganne Verigan started the annual Kick for Cancer Martial Arts Tournament. The purpose is to teach students how to give back to their community and to help them to realize that at some time in our lives we all will know someone who will need the services provided by hospice. Each year proceeds of this tournament go to support local hospice programs like the one at Central New Hampshire VNA & Hospice.

Held annually at the Gilmanton School, martial arts students travel from up and down the eastern seaboard to participate. This is New Hampshire’s longest running charity martial arts tournament.

Annual Meeting

Central NH VNA & Hospice invites you to its Annual Meeting, usually held in the last week of September. Entry is free to donors. The evening features a guest speaker and a wonderful buffet dinner. Sites alternate each year between Wolfeboro and Meredith.

Jamboree

The Jamboree is an annual event, held every June, in Tuftonboro NH. It features live music, usually bluegrass and a barbeque. Moderate entry fees are charged for both, with all proceeds benefitting Central NH VNA & Hospice.

Hospice Tree of Memories

Central VNA hosts this annual December remembrance event. Participants purchase doves with the names of their loved ones inscribed, and then attend an optional service where doves are placed on lit evergreen trees, songs are sung and responsive readings are offered. Currently, events are held in Wolfeboro, Alton, Meredith and Wakefield.

Thank you for supporting Central VNA & Hospice.

Corona Virus or COVID-19 Pandemic:

Central New Hampshire VNA & Hospice continues to serve patients and will plan to do so into the foreseeable future. Working closely with our community partners, our goal during this pandemic is to provide the needed home based services our community requires. It is our intention that our patients will not see a big change in their care. What they might notice is the addition of a number of screening questions when scheduling a visit with one of our clinicians.
